The MLR App – 2022 features and updates


With PT SportSuite’s partnership with Major League Rugby now well into its second season – fans of North America’s professional rugby league have been enjoying a raft of improvements and new additions to the official MLR League App – the ultimate digital destination for MLR fans on mobile.


The MLR app’s My Team selection tool allows fans to personalise their MLR App home page experience with team-specific news feeds, fixtures, squads, with kick-off notifications for your team’s matches.

MY TEAM sets the stage for the MLR’s 13 start-up franchises to offer more digital value to sponsors, with targeted, team specific sponsor placements and advertising per team profile now possible based on user preferences.


Launched in April, PT SportSuite’s new API-agnostic match day stats engine serves real-time match scores, stats and commentary during all MLR matches, providing a comprehensive digital destination/second-screen option for MLR fans inside and outside the stadium.

Providing team line-ups and integration with MLR ticketing services, fans can visit Match Centre pre-game, during the match, and long after the action has wrapped up – creating a resource that fans can re-visit throughout the season.


PT’s proprietary Video Playlist CMS platform integrates with MLR’s branded cloud video library, making it a breeze for the MLR team to securely refresh and serve video content to their MLR audience.    

With no go-restrictions in place, rugby fans around the world can catch up on the latest match highlights and featured video content, growing interest among rugby’s global fan base.   


MLR fans can visit the MLR app to see who’s performing – and who’s not – with up to date player season stats made available via 3rd party stats API integration. Each MLR team can edit and manage player bios and personal stats via the MLRMojos dashboard management platform, along with personal player stats and social media links. 


The Fan Zone is where MLR fans go to share their MLR stories with the MLR fan community – transforming passionate MLR fans into content contributors for the league.

Challenges with instructions, supporting media and incentivisation are designed to increase digital fan engagement inside and outside the stadium, with moderated fan media published to the official MLR Fan Wall, with the best submissions standing the chance to be featured on MLR’s All Access weekly show – aired on national TV.
